Lots are used to logically assign markers within your company. How you create Lots will depend on your organization, it could be by product, product family, individual SKU, region or other breakdowns that make sense for your organization.
Within a Lot, you can assign content that will be accessed when someone taps on an NFC tag or scans a QR code so all the Tags in a Lot would serve the same experience.
NOTE – For the Lot functionality, the term Tag is used to describe any marker (NFC Tag, QR Code, RFID Tag, etc) that you will be assigning to a Lot. The assignment function works the same regardless of marker type.
Some examples of use of Lots in an organization.
By Product – Having a different lot for each product allows a company to offer a product specific experience. You could have further breakdowns based on product size or packaging.
By Distribution Channel – A winery might have different Lots for a product based on whether it is distributed through retail channels, through the company website or sold to restaurants. By having different Lots by distribution channel, the winery could offer different experiences based on how the product is purchased or used.
By Region – A barbecue grill maker could have different lots by region for some of its products to offer experiences based on different seasons or the types of food a region prefers to grill.
By Season/Holiday – For special offers or interaction associated with the time of year or a particular holiday, a brand could have Lots dedicated to those seasons that are different than normal product or regional Lots.
You can have an unlimited number of Lots in DIRX2.
