Within DIRX2, there is not much maintenance that can be performed on a Roll. Really the only thing that a user can do with a Roll is add a description that can be used to search for that Roll at a later date.
Rolls are added to a company by a system administrator so in most cases in DIRX2, you will simply have a list of Rolls that you can work with.
You will assign Rolls to Lots in order to manage content and your company will most likely have a strategy for Roll management. When you add a collection of QR codes, NFC tags or other markers to the system, it will usually be for a particular reason or planned campaign so a strategy for using the description field to identify Rolls earmarked for certain campaigns would make sense.
If you do have a collection of tags that can be used on an as-needed basis, then a naming strategy is less important.
